I don't think I have ever experienced a medical appointment in all my 50++ years as I had yesterday with PGA Dermatology. First of all, I called Tuesday to schedule a new patient appointment and I was able to come in the very next day. Imagine that! The office was immaculate and intimate. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly and professional from the scheduling of the appointment (Tori); to taking my medical information and answering questions (Katie); and Casey Turek who was so welcoming and performed the exam. The office was run efficiently and accurately from the first contact from the pre work to the processing and walk-out, a great experience. Dr. Casey was very learned in her diagnosis of my condition and moved forward with the process to make me well with a great bedside manner in explaining all of the options and procedure. I felt completely secure in having her completing the procedures today. The assistant was very warm and friendly in her demeanor understanding my issue, and very skilled and gentle administering the medication to start the procedure. This clinic was recommended by Google due to all the great reviews it has. On their website it stated that they offer Chemical Peels, which is exactly what my mom was looking for. Her dermatologist of over 20 years recently retired and I was tasked with finding her a new one. I contacted this office to inquire about the chemical peels and was informed that they offer medium grade chemical peels. I was contacted by Sydney who introduced herself as the aesthetician who will be performing this procedure for my mom. From the start I reiterated that my mom is doing the medium-grade chemical peel for anti-aging purposes and that she has scars on her face. My mom flew to Florida and drove to Palm Beach Gardens on a Monday for the treatment, which she received for her face, neck, and hands. The first day, she did not feeling much except for some itching on her neck. On the second day, everything still looked the same. No redness nor tightness. Sydney then asked how often my mom was using 'tretinoin', which was confusing since my mom does not use tretinoin nor ever said that she was so why was this asked?? My mom was then asked about her skincare before the procedure, which is a list I already sent to Sydney 28 days (4 weeks) prior. It was then suggested by Sydney that my mom's face was probably not peeling at all due to one product. Yet this was never a concern and was not brought up before nor on the day of the procedure. My mom had this procedure, medium-grade chemical peel, done before more than once by her previous dermatologist and her skin would be red, very tight, and would peel every single time. Her scars would be less noticeable and so would her wrinkles. This is the complete opposite of what happened after the procedure at this clinic. A part of my mom's face peeled very lightly on day 4 but still no noticeable differences were apparent at all. I took time off work and drove my mom over an hour to Palm Beach Gardens that same week on Friday as we were asked to do. I witnessed as my mom was told that she should not expect the one chemical peel to be a solution to all her wrinkles and scars, nor for it to give her face a lift. Huh?? My mom (and I) simply expected the same results she got every single time after a medium grade chemical peel procedure in the past. That should not be hard to understand. At no point did she ask for anything more than what she was used to. During this short meeting my mom was simply given 'towelettes' to use for two days. But during our drive back Sydney messaged to not use the towelettes. Again, huh?? My mom had to fly back home but she was asked to return exactly 5 weeks after the procedure. During this time my mom's hands never peeled as she was assured they would, and the reason cannot be a 'product' as was suggested with her face because she did not use any products on her hands. Her face also developed spots on her chin, which is very concerning and I sent pictures of this. The appointment also had to get moved because the trainer would not be available. Needless to say that both my mom and I were extremely disappointed that a $700+ procedure had this outcome. More expensive than her previous dermatologist and not nearly the same results as from her previous dermatologist. This was a huge disappointment. Obviously I did not want to take more unpaid time off work, for my mom to take more unpaid time off work, to pay for my mom to fly back to Florida and then back, plus have to drive so long for 'maybe' results or for someone else to just be rude and list excuses. It has been over 3 months and I can say with all certainty now that this procedure had 0 results, unless the new and very visible spots on her chin count.Load more
